Endless Spring
It’s still cloudy and cool in LA.
Vivian requested the removal of her electric blanket three weeks ago, despite the fact that we are still needing the heat on once the sun falls behind the horizon. The fact that the heating aspect of this electric blanket officially broke in February has meant that it’s just an extra blanket that will be replaced this fall.
I’ve brought fuzzy hot water bottles into the chat this year. I bought them for a girls trip I took in February, kind of as a joke but also as a way to heat up my bed each night. Turns out, everyone loved them, and now we own one for me, Landon and Vivian (she took mine when I got home). I even sent them to my parents. It’s this one, in case you were wondering.
Cloudy mornings always remind me of my life in Venice, when I would walk Jack around the rich neighborhood and dream of living in one of these homes someday. They are mornings where I don’t want to get out of bed, don’t want to leave the house, don’t want to be productive.
Viv woke up Monday morning with an ear infection. She started water polo a few weeks back, so I guess she was due. The doctor said it’s still safe to use swim ear, FYI.
The rattail blooms have finished blossoming, and are now on their decline. An exciting event on the patio each March-April.
Lulu is getting dive-bombed by mockingbirds again, which means she’s killing babies at night. Another sign of her murderous spring rampage is that her food goes untouched most mornings, her tummy full of feathers and once-living rat tails.
Nobody is allowed to schedule anything else this month or next. Classic end-of-year rush, science nights and talent shows and fundraisers and birthdays. See you in June.
