The Patio Project
It’s been well-documented how much I love our patio. It’s the size of a small bedroom (or a large closet) and is flanked by an enormous rosemary bush and birds-of-paradise. We have two chairs that were old and torn up, that we had recovered and stuffed. We have a little table to put your little drink on. We even have two poufs to prop your feet up. It’s where Lulu’s bed and food bowls are. It’s magical.
However, there is one corner that I consistently crop out of pictures, that I have to turn my head away from, that I wish people were blind to when they came over for the first time. It’s also the first thing you see when you come into our home. Yes, it’s the corner with the AC unit. It sucks.
We had these black Ikea storage boxes stashed on our much smaller, much less trafficked patio back at our old place, and when we moved in here, they sort of found their way onto our newer prettier patio. They currently store our tools and nails, my plant pots and soil. I hate them.
It’s such an eye sore, and I didn’t know how to fix it- until now! My beautiful friend San Fransisco is a designer with such amazing taste, and she graciously consulted via zoom to help me come up with a plan! We have it! I will link her website in future posts!
I’m announcing this because I will be providing before and after pics, as well as during pics. I’m not doing this because I think it’s the most interesting thing in the world, but because this is the content I crave (in addition to exercise talk).
So look forward to watching (and reading about) my progress on this project! We looked at paint samples this weekend and made our decisions, so today I’m going to get the paints and brushes for the new cabinet. Then, I will be building a living wall! It’s all happening! Theoretically! Please offer to help!
